After all, every environment is different–for example, chemical plants often need enclosures that can withstand contact with corrosive materials, while an industrial enclosure may require resistance to impact and abrasion. With every custom enclosure fabrication we take on, we work closely with our customers to ensure that we fully understand their requirements and the industry standards that they have to meet.
In addition, we also have to consider the unique size and shape of each enclosure so that it can actually hold everything it needs to, while fitting into whatever space the finished system will be installed into. While some customers may need a simple, average-sized box-shaped enclosure, it could still require specific mounting points for bolts, wire harnesses, switches, and other components. And as the requirements for function and protection of the electrical equipment grow more complex, so do the requirements for the enclosure to hold them.
Metal Enclosure Fabrication at KMK
KMK is unique in that we can fabricate the entire enclosure in-house, without having to outsource the product for different services like assembly or powder coating. We’re used to working with unique designs or challenging requirements, and collaborate with each customer to ensure that the finished product meets or exceeds their expectations.
Our facility is decked out with all of the fabrication technology we need, including turret presses, lasers, brake presses, and welders to form the enclosure, and then a fully automated powder coating line that feeds into our assembly and packaging center where we can finish and put it all together. Having all of this in one facility not only ensures consistent quality between operations, but also shortens lead times and reduces overall production costs.
