KMK is one of the few fabrication shops that accommodates sheet metal, tubing, and metal wire fabrication all within our facility. We provide custom
wire forming according to our partners’ designs, typically incorporating the finished component into a final product on site, or sending the components to our partners’ facilities for assembly.
Custom Wire Forming at KMK
At KMK, wire forming is most often part of the package of services that we offer as part of our efforts to be a single source of metal fabrication for our partners. We specialize in product families such as store fixtures, racks, and carts, all of which typically incorporate a mixture of tube, wire, and sheet metal components. That isn’t to say that wire forming isn’t an important part of our facility–some of the designs sent our way for store fixtures or racks are almost entirely made from metal wire.
We mainly work with carbon steel and stainless steel wire, as both metals offer high strength and durability while being relatively inexpensive. We have equipment for precise bending and straightening in order to shape the wire according to our customers’ designs, as well as several different spot welders for welding 2D and 3D wire parts or wire grids.
Applications of Wire Forming at KMK
KMK is the partner for many different OEMs, creating custom metal fixtures and point of purchase (POP) displays suited to the dimensions that they need. Metal wire often plays a role in the shelving and racks of these displays, providing a lightweight and easy-to-move fixture that can be put up and taken down in minutes.
Wire forming also plays a role in many of the custom carts and racks that we fabricate for our customers. KMK has made a wide variety of carts for industrial and commercial use, complete with a powder coating and custom features such as adjustable shelves, unique dimensions, and more to ensure that our customers receive a product that actually functions in their space.
